Hi! Here’s Siyuan (柴思远)! I am a first year Computer Science Ph.D. at UIUC, advised Prof. Tianyin Xu. I graduated from the BS/MS program at Northwestern University in Spring 2021. I have a broad interest in system research, and my current work focuses on operating systems and HW/SW codesgin for memory management. I will join Google as a intern in Summer 2022. See you in the bay area!
In Summer 2021, I worked as a research intern at Tencent working on network verification. At Northwestern, I worked closely with Prof. Peter Dinda in Prescience Lab. We focused on kernel-level development and operating system designs for new schemes of memory management. I tried out compiler research with Prof. Simone Campanoni; we worked to enhance compiler to produce parallel code by utilizing loop commutativity. In my earlier undergraduate years, I was also part of Image and Video Processing Lab led by Prof. Aggelos Katsaggelos. I built AI/ML tools in medical imaging.
